Sounding of the Herd
Hey everyone, quick update from behind the mic at Sounding of the Herd. We’ve been working on a new episode… and this one really captures what the month of May looked like around Terre Haute Elks Lodge #86. And honestly it was a big one. We’re talking about real, hands-on community work. Supporting veterans at the Veteran Stand Down… partnering with DAV Chapter 9… getting out into the community and showing what Elks Care, Elks Share actually looks like. There were some great moments—like grilling out at events, connecting with people, and just being present where it matters. And then, as Memorial Day approached, things took a more meaningful turn. Members spent time placing flags at local cemeteries… taking a moment to honor those who gave everything. That’s one of those traditions that really sticks with you. But it wasn’t just about looking back it was also about looking forward. We also got to recognize some incredible students with our Most Valuable Student Scholarships. Seeing that next generation step up, work hard, and get recognized—it’s a big part of what we’re about too. So this episode… it’s not just a recap. It’s about the people. The moments. The impact. We’ve pulled together some great stories that really show what this lodge is doing in the community. So make sure you’re following Sounding of the Herd—this episode is dropping soon. And if you like what we’re doing, give it a like and share to help us spread the word. We’ll see you in the full episode
