Descripción

St. Peter’s Lutheran | A Big Summer Sermon Series | May 24, 2026 | Pastor John Cordrey | Pentecost looked less like a reverent church service and more like the biggest block party Jerusalem had ever seen. There was wind, noise, many languages, fire, and, of course, the crowds gathered in the streets. In this moment, the Holy Spirit creates a new community centered on Jesus and empowers ordinary people to share God’s mighty works. The Church begins when God gathers people who otherwise would never belong together.

Sermon | What About That | Between Life and Death | 4

St. Peter’s Lutheran | What About That | May 3, 2026 | Pastor Adam Rodriguez | Death is the one reality our culture tries hardest to avoid. We sanitize it, delay it, and try to control it when it draws near. But eventually, it finds us sitting in hospital rooms, holding hands, asking questions we can’t ignore. In these moments, we are faced not only with the reality of death, but with how to care well in the face of it, not simply prolonging days at all costs, but surrounding one another with presence, compassion, and love. Scripture teaches us not how to control death, but how to approach death: with courage, wisdom, and trust. knowing that even here, the Lord is present, and He is the only one that can control death.
