Descripción

Sinners Convicted, Spared, Transformed (John 7:53-8:11) Series: The Gospel of John Preacher: The Rev. Josiah Henderson Date: 12th July 2026 Passage: John 7:53-8:11 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+7%3A53-8%3A11&version=ESV] ------------------- In the first part of this sermon, we examine the unique textual history of John 7:53-8:11, and consider whether or not this story even counts as Holy Scripture. In the second part of the sermon, we look at the story itself, which shows us Jesus' great and surprising compassion for sinners. Because Jesus has compassion on us, (1) he convicts us of our sins; (2) he spares us; and (3) he transforms us.
