episode The Missing Jesus | Lazarus | Sue Brown artwork

The Missing Jesus | Lazarus | Sue Brown

We read in the Bible many promises made by God to reassure us in our faith. Words such as Jesus saying “…I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.” in John 14 and “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” in Matthew 28. Promises that cannot be broken because God has spoken them. Yet there are times in our lives when things happen and we look around and Jeus seems to have vanished. Has God broken His promises? Does Jesus ever desert us or are we looking at things in the wrong way? Together we will look at three examples where Jesus went ‘missing’ and see how close He really is. Scriptures: John 11:4-8 John 11:11-15 John 11:17-27 John 11:33-36 2 Kings 20:5 1 Peter 5:10 John 11:38-44 This sermon was recorded on 12th July 2026 at Stour Valley Vineyard Church. www.stourvalleyvineyard.org  Instagram @svvineyard Facebook.com/stourvalleyvineyard

episode What is Worship? | Giving ourselves as a living sacrifice | Karen Naylor artwork

What is Worship? | Giving ourselves as a living sacrifice | Karen Naylor

Worship is integral with the Vineyard DNA. When John Wimber brought the first teams over to this country they were notorious for turning up late to events because they had lost themselves in worship. All we need to do is to quote John... “Becoming true worshippers is the chief assignment God has given us in this lifetime. I believe that God is bringing the church to her knees to teach her how to express her love to him in intimate, loving and adoring language. In addition, the Lord calls us to live a life of worship. The Word, our walk with Christ and the works of the church as a whole are all expressions of worship. They necessarily flow out of hearts that are devoted to the Lord.” Scriptures: Romans 12:1 Genesis 3:21-23 Genesis 1:29 Genesis 2:15-17 Genesis 3:1-6 Matthew 4:1-3 Matthew 26:39 Luke 9:23-24 This sermon was recorded on 28th June 2026 at Stour Valley Vineyard Church. www.stourvalleyvineyard.org  Instagram @svvineyard Facebook.com/stourvalleyvineyard
