Descripción

This week didn’t go how I expected. I set out to shoot portraits of nature—but instead, I started to see something deeper. Not just subjects, but stories within a frame. Through layering, letting go of forced shots, and simply walking away when it wasn’t working, something clicked. I also share a recent portrait session, thoughts on Canon vs Sony, creative workflow changes, and the challenge (and reward) of showing up every day. Next experiment: Chasing Light.

I Stopped Chasing Light | SLP 0008

This week something shifted. After spending weeks trying to chase light, I realized the best images came when I stopped forcing photos and started recognizing them instead. Rainy weather, moody shadows, rushed days, and a few breakthrough moments completely changed how I approached photography this week. I also talk about instinct, storytelling, gear, journaling, creative systems, and my next experiment: “See It First.” 00:00 — I Stopped Chasing Light 00:42 — Rainy Days & Moody Light 01:50 — Busy Days, Rushed Photos & Frustration 03:06 — The Missed Shot at the Old Theater 04:43 — A Breakthrough at the End of the Week 05:14 — Finding Photos in My Own Backyard 06:08 — Capturing the String Light Photo 07:09 — The Garage Light Moment 08:29 — Learning to Recognize Light 09:18 — I Didn’t Need to Chase Photos 10:48 — Why I’m Going Back to the 1.8 Lens 11:38 — Backup Systems, Journaling & Creativity 13:27 — Next Week’s Experiment: “See It First” 15:27 — Progress, Growth & Final Thoughts
