Descripción

The Sunshine family is unique in Mozambique because it is made up mostly of girls—28 out of 41 children—whilemost centers care for mostly boys. In many communities, orphaned girls are kept by extended family to help with household chores, leaving boys more commonlyplaced in children’s centers. Because of this, the boys at Sunshine were especially excited to welcome 10-year-old Alfredo. His arrival brings a refreshing balance to the home. The children are happily embracing their newestbrother. Growing into Adolescence in the Sunshine

In this episode, I share the bittersweet beauty of watching our Sunshine children grow—from the ache of missing their littleness to the joy of seeing them become confident, compassionate, spiritually grounded teenagers. By learning to slow down and truly be present, I’ve discovered the quiet miracles happening in their lives every day. Join me as I reflect on the gratitude, wonder, and faithfulness woven into their growing-up journey. All I Want for Christmas Is...BARBED WIRE

Even though it’s the Christmas season, we find our focus in Mozambique shifting toward safety because crime in Maputo and Matola is severe and ever-present. We’ve experienced repeated thefts, robberies, and even an armed home invasion at our home and the Sunshine Houses, pushing us to reinforce security with higher walls, electric fencing, and now barbed wire. Recent incidents—like the theft of our van’s battery and even our puppy—show just how persistent and resourceful thieves can be. With seven of our nine homes still needing protection, we’re hoping for support to install barbed wire so our families can feel safe and have peace of mind this Christmas.   To learn more please visit our foundation website  www.sunshineapproach.org [http://www.sunshineapproach.org] or visit our company website www.sunshinenuts.com [http://www.sunshinenuts.com]  A special thanks to our Sound Producer, Rigger (Otis Brown)  https://soundcloud.com/riggersound [https://soundcloud.com/riggersound]
