Surf Report - San Francisco California
Good morning everyone, and welcome to your Northern and Central California surf forecast for Monday and Tuesday, June 22nd and 23rd. A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through Wednesday evening, so please stay alert and check with your local authorities regarding any potential beach closures in your area. Starting up north in Sonoma and Marin County, we're looking at a solid swell to kick off your Monday with surf heights running from 5 to 8 feet. It'll be mostly cloudy out there with highs in the mid-50s to low-70s depending on your exact location. Winds will be light, coming from the northwest at just 6 miles per hour. The water temperature data is unavailable for this zone, but conditions should be pleasant overall. Your tide schedule shows a high of 3.8 feet early in the morning around 6:24 AM, followed by a low of 1.2 feet just after noon, and then another high of 5.7 feet in the evening around 7:08 PM. By Tuesday, expect the surf to back off a bit to 3 to 6 feet with mostly cloudy skies, some patchy fog moving in, and highs reaching the low to mid-70s. Winds will be even lighter, shifting to the southwest at just 4 miles per hour. Moving down to San Francisco and San Mateo County, Monday's conditions look slightly smaller with surf ranging from 4 to 7 feet. Water temperature is hovering around 58 degrees. Expect mostly cloudy skies with some patchy fog rolling through, and highs in the mid-50s to around 70 degrees. Light westerly winds at 5 miles per hour will keep things mellow. The same tidal pattern affects this zone as Sonoma and Marin. Tuesday brings similar conditions with 3 to 6 foot surf, comparable fog and clouds, and highs in the mid-50s to low-70s as southwesterly winds stick around at a gentle 5 miles per hour. Heading to Santa Cruz County, Monday's forecast shows 3 to 6 foot waves with mostly cloudy skies and highs ranging from 58 to 78 degrees. Water temperatures are pleasant at 58 to 59 degrees. Winds will start light from the northwest at 4 miles per hour but will gradually increase to around 9 miles per hour as the day progresses. Your morning high tide occurs at 5:20 AM reaching 3.3 feet, a low around 11:16 AM at 1.1 feet, and an evening high of 5.1 feet near 6:13 PM. Tuesday looks excellent with mostly cloudy conditions, surf dropping to 3 to 5 feet, warmer highs between 59 and 80 degrees, and light winds becoming just 5 miles per hour from the west. Finally, down in Monterey Bay and Big Sur, Monday's swell settles in around 3 to 5 feet with water temperatures near 59 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies will dominate with highs from 60 to 75 degrees. Winds start calm from the northwest at 3 miles per hour then build to 9 miles per hour by afternoon. The tidal pattern here matches Santa Cruz County. Tuesday continues the excellent trend with the same 3 to 5 foot surf, mostly cloudy skies with some patchy fog, highs between 60 and 76 degrees, and westerly winds increasing to around 8 miles per hour. Overall, both days look fantastic for getting out on the water. No thunderstorms are expected anywhere along the coast, and conditions should remain safe and enjoyable. Monday brings slightly larger surf, particularly up north, while Tuesday settles down but offers warmer temperatures and lighter winds for most areas. Just remember that Beach Hazards Statement is in effect, so exercise caution and respect the ocean. Now get out there and enjoy some great California surf.
