Jesus tells his disciples that they are to be the salt of the earth. Salt is an important ingredient in being a vessel of change. Salt sanitizes and purifies whatever it comes into contact with. The Life of Change: A New Cruse

The first call to being a vessel of change is to become a new cruse or container. To be made new God has to remake you into a vessel that is different from who you are now. For God to use us to bring change we must first be emptied of all the old life. We must bring ourselves so that God can produce a change in us that we then can influence a change into others. Have you been made new? The second aspect of this is God's liberty. When we are made new God frees us from the old. Our liberation in Christ is how we can bring liberation to others. The Life of Change

What's wrong with our world? We lack people who carry the life of change. The reason our society is in constant decline is because the life of Christ is not multiplying out those who call themselves Christians. Our mandate is to make many disciples; to be fruitful and multiply. This multiplication of Christ back in the days of old caused the whole world to turn upside down. Many back then turned to God. The Path to Heirship: Renewing of the Holy Spirit

As we are on our journey to growing in maturity we must know the role of the Holy Spirit. In our base verse in Titus, it talks about how the Holy Spirit renews us. Transforming us from the old into the new is the first aspect of the Holy Spirit. If we are not made new, then we are still of the old life. Becoming increasing newer in Christ is the direction we need to grow. If we don't grow in that direction, then we are becoming more carnal, natural. The Holy Spirit also is in charge of birthing the new creation life in us. We see this with Mary when she birthed Jesus. She was an example of how the Holy Spirit is to begot Christ in our own lives. The Path to Heirship: God's Approval

If God isn't pleased with your life, what will He do for you? In this pursuit to becoming heirs our growth needs to be in the direction of attaining God's approval. God blesses those whose life pleases Him. In Timothy it talks about concentrating to show ourselves approved of God. True spiritual growth is growing in how one's life pleases God. Jesus was a son who God was pleased with, so must we be also. Without this direction our growth will be random. We will lack a life that can receive anything God wants to bring our way.
