What started as a small community effort in 1974, led by the Maury County Bridle and Saddle Club, has grown into a week-long event that draws more than 200,000 visitors to Columbia, Tennessee. Originally revived as a fundraiser for the community, Mule Day now generates an estimated $10 million economic impact for the region and stands as a testament to the power of local tradition and volunteer spirit. You will hear how a dedicated group of about 100 club members, along with a 40-person volunteer committee and countless community partners, continue to bring Mule Day to life each year. Once the First Baptist Church, built in 1936, The Mulehouse has been beautifully restored, blending rich history with modern energy, complete with original stained-glass windows, exposed brick, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
