Descripción

What do our jokes actually reveal about us? In this episode of the 247 Podcast, we dive into humor, sarcasm, dark jokes, and the things our generation laughs about — and ask a deeper question: Is it actually funny, or is it shaping our hearts? We talk about the line between harmless jokes and harmful speech, why certain topics have become normalized online, and how our words reflect what’s going on inside of us. As Christians, we’re called to be different — not humorless, but intentional with what we celebrate, repeat, and laugh at. This conversation isn’t about “being perfect,” it’s about checking our hearts and asking if our humor points people toward life or slowly desensitizes us to things that matter. If you’ve ever wondered whether jokes really matter, this episode is for you.

episode How God "SHAPES" Our Lives! (feat. Nikki Sedgwick) artwork

How God "SHAPES" Our Lives! (feat. Nikki Sedgwick)

In this breakout session, we talk about how God uniquely shapes each of our lives with purpose. Using the S.H.A.P.E. framework, we explore how the way God designed you isn’t random — it’s intentional. God uses your Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences to guide how you live, serve, and impact others. When you begin to understand how God has shaped you, it becomes easier to see where He may be leading you. S.H.A.P.E. stands for: S — Spiritual Gifts: The gifts God gives believers through the Holy Spirit to serve others and build up the church. H — Heart: The passions and burdens God places inside you — the things you naturally care deeply about. A — Abilities: The talents and skills God has given you that can be used for His purposes. P — Personality: The unique way God wired you to interact with people and approach situations. E — Experiences: The life moments God has allowed you to walk through that shape your testimony and perspective. God doesn’t waste anything in your life. Every part of your S.H.A.P.E. can be used for His glory.
