episode Hunting for the Good Everyday artwork

Hunting for the Good Everyday

Hi everyone. This episode is basically an overview of a technique that you can implement in your everyday life, ESPECIALLY on those rough days. Hunting for the Good is a tactic that I learned in Master Resiliency Training while in the Army that helps you redirect your negative thought processes into more positive ones. Here's a link to example prompts for a gratitude journal or just questions that you can reflect on or ask your loved ones to put you in a positive state of mind: https://www.therapistaid.com/worksheets/gratitude-journal-three-good-things [https://www.therapistaid.com/worksheets/gratitude-journal-three-good-things] For each day, there are three different sentence stems that your client can complete, including: * One good thing that happened to me today… * Something good that I saw someone do… * Today I had fun when… * Something I accomplished today… * Something funny that happened today… Also, as promised, here's a link to the training programs that I have available through the Train Heroic platform: https://marketplace.trainheroic.com/brand/butterflyfit-with-viv [https://marketplace.trainheroic.com/brand/butterflyfit-with-viv]

One Army veteran’s story on how he repurposed his life and changed his mindset toward positivity

In this episode I am interviewing 11 year Army Veteran, Jeremiah Pauley. After being wounded in Iraq, he was medically retired from the Army. For several years he struggled with depression, anxiety, alcoholism, and suicidal ideation. Fortunately, he was introduced to a physical health and wellness event by a veteran service organization. This empowered him, to become the best version of himself. While overcoming the trauma of war and learning to adapt to his physical wounds has not been easy, he loves a challenging workout to prove to himself that he is capable of anything he sets his mind to. He lives by the mantra “Make it a Great Day,” and seeks to spread positivity in everything he does. In his own words: “I want everyone to succeed. Don’t compete with me. Don’t compete with the person next to you. Look in the mirror. That’s who your competition is. Just be better than you were yesterday. Everyday. Once you do that. You’re winning!” He lives in Woodland, CA with his wife, 2 kids and 3 dogs. His Instagram handle is @coach_jeremiah_pauley. Information for the FitOps organization can be found at https://fitops.org/ ~ Thank you for listening- please leave a review, share with your friends and fellow vets.
