Descripción

In this episode I have the pleasure of dialoguing with Author/Theologian/Advocate Khristi Lauren Adams. Her book, Parable of the Brown Girl, tells stories of black girlhood, taken from real sit down discussions with black girls. Listen in as she shares the parallel and power of parables and storytelling. We also dive into the important connection between identity, black girlhood and faith.

E4: Religion AND Relationship: Why Both Matter

A lot of folks started reshaping their language around religion once it appeared to be demonizing, manipulative, and judgmental. Some believers have opted to claim relationship over religion in a soft attempt to help others understand their walk of faith with God. Religion was abandoned, and relationship was favored. I overstand both. As a church girl, I’ve been on both sides of the argument and the choice to claim relationship over religion, but one day God challenged me to look at it deeper. After careful study, a revisit to scripture, and my experience being a follower of Christ, I believe both are necessary. In this episode, I explain why it doesn’t have to be an either-or but rather a both-and. Religion doesn’t have to be a dirty word. This episode will help the listener understand the purpose and function of both and how they can live harmoniously, elevating our lives and beliefs. Tune in and share it with a friend.
