Chapter 4 - Dragopia

In the previous episode, Lily gets to find a little dragon and was amused to know that Grandpa already knew about it! Before we get started with the episode, here is the winner of the previous contest: Divya J of Grade 8. The parents of the little dragon were Fury and Hydra. Congratulations to the winner! Also don’t forget that we have a question coming up for you! So keep listening. “I understand that you are super-eager to know about them, but it’s time to go to bed! I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow, sweetie! Good night” said Grandpa as he let out a huge yawn. “Grandpa, this isn’t fair at all! I am dying to know who the parents of Fire are! You must tell me!” exclaimed Lily. “Time to go to bed!” said Grandpa as he pushed Lily into her room. Lily grumbled as she went to bed. Lily was firm not to go to bed, but slowly she drifted off imagining the Dragon World, Fire cozily sleeping next to her. Lily woke up to the yells of her Grandma next morning. “Lily, look at the time! It’s just 10 minutes to breakfast. Wake up, sleepyhead!” yelled Grandma. “Alright Grandma, coming!” Lily yelled back. “What a strange dream! A dragon at home! That would be the best thing to have!” said Lily when she saw Fire in her bookshelf. Lily thought it was all a dream but that’s when she realized that it was all true! Fire climbed to Lily’s shoulder and tickled her. Lily made a cosy bed for Fire by using her kerchief and a small basket. Lily was eager to go and talk to Grandpa about Fury and Hydra. She rushed to the fireplace. “Grandpa, tell me who Fury and Hydra are?!” urged Lily. “Ah! As I promised, I will definitely tell you about them but not before you have your breakfast!” said Grandpa. Lily gobbled up her sandwich and sat near Grandpa. “Lily, why on earth are you gobbling your sandwich as if you have not eaten for ages!?” asked Grandma. “Grandpa, now tell me who Fury and Hydra are!” asked Lily. “Ah! Fury and Hydra! Really fine dragons they were! Only if those cruel bottle-heads hadn’t killed the entire species” said Grandpa as he sighed. Chapter 3 - A Dragon at Home

In the previous episode, Lily finds something that she has never seen in her life before as she rummages through Grandpa’s old collection of books. “No! It couldn’t be! It is asleep but it may wake up any time! Is it dangerous? Will it kill me?” Lily’s mind was filled to the brim with lots of thoughts. Are you curious to know what Lily saw in the book? It was… A LITTLE DRAGON! It was neatly laid in the page of the book fast asleep. Its tail waved to and fro. Lily took the dragon with her trembling hands and laid it in her palm. The dragon seemed like having a cosy time! It slowly opened its eyes and winked at Lily! “Whoa! This dragon seems like a friendly one! Hi Little Dragie!” said Lily as she tickled the dragon. The dragon gave a playful chuckle. “I think I should name you. Hedwig? Fury? Hydra? I think Fire will be an apt name for you. Isn’t it, Fire?” asked Lily. Fire nodded! Lily read the other pages of the book to know that it was all about how the dragon species went extinct and there was only one red-headed dragon left. And it was Fire! Lily felt a sudden surge of determination. No matter what Lily will never let Fire die. NEVER! “Fire, you are an incredibly special dragon. You will be very safe here!” exclaimed Lily. Lily thought that she is ought to tell Grandpa about it.  Lily tip-toed to Grandpa’s room and woke Grandpa us. “What is it that you have to tell me in this hour, sweetie? Go to bed,” said Grandpa half-sleepy. “Grandpa, this is something very important. You have to see what I have for you,” urged Lily. Lily showed Grandpa Fire. Grandpa was moved to see it! “Lily, where did you find it?” asked Grandpa in an astonished tone. “Grandpa, you might be angry to know what I’ve done but here’s what happened. I was bored, so I went to your library to find a book for myself. Grandpa, I must say that you have an impressive library! Anyways, in your library I found a page sticking out. It belonged to the book, Quest for the Golden Egg. After hours of searching in the library, I found the book. And I found this dragon in it and I named it Fire!” said Lily. “Whoa! That’s impressive, Lily! You are Fury and Hydra’s son, aren’t you fire?” asked Grandpa. Fire climbed to Grandpa’s ear and Grandpa chuckled. “Grandpa, who are Fury and Hydra? Chapter 2 - Mystery

Listen to how Lily sees something that she has never seen in her life before as she rummages through books in Grandpa's old library. In the previous episode, Lily and Grandpa went to the woods and Grandpa told Lily a story about fairies. That night, Lily couldn’t sleep. She was engrossed in the thoughts of the fairies and the magical world. She desperately wanted to hear a story from Grandpa. She got out of bed and started searching for a book. But she realized that she has read all of the books – every single one of them! “Eureka! Grandpa has many books! But he hasn’t read me any of them! Let me go find one for me!” thought Lily. Lily tip-toed to Grandpa’s old library. She walked really slow not to wake up anyone in the house. She reached Grandpa’s huge library. As she stepped in, she could smell the musty smell of old books there. Grandpa once told her that books here were as old as 1000 years. It seemed as if there was an infinite number of books in the library. Lily has not visited this library many times. “I know that Grandpa doesn’t allow anyone in here. But never mind, I think Grandpa wouldn’t mind me reading some of his books,” thought Lily. There were books about legends, fairies, gnomes, elves and what not! Lily couldn’t choose a book from the massive collection. She wished to read all of those at the same time. She looked for a really interesting book. While she rummaged through the books, she found a page sticking out. She had a sudden excitement for the page. She pulled out the page. She read it to find out that the book was something about dragons. She didn’t really know much about dragons, but now she desperately wanted to know more about them. After long hours of searching, Lily finally got it! She felt a sudden surge of excitement. The book’s title read “The Quest for the Golden Egg”. It looked like an ancient book because the pages were torn and musty. Chapter 1 - The Curious Girl

Red Tree is proud to present its first Episode of "The Adventures of Lily Brown". Listen to the adventures of a little girl who dares to go on a magical journey.  In the quiet woods of London lived a girl called Lily Brown. Unlike in other stories, Lily is an adventurous girl who looks forward to discovering new things. Nurtured by the affectionate care of Grandma Emily and bedtime tales from Grandpa Brown, Lily grew up in a small village in London far from her busy parents who hardly had time to spend with her. Lily only got to talk to her parents on Saturdays. She eagerly waits for Saturdays! She dialed her dad’s number in the antique telephone in the mantelpiece, eagerly waiting for her dad to pick the call. Finally he did, but to her disappointment, her father said, “Honey, I am in an important meeting right now. Would you mind if I talk to you later? Bye!” Lily hung up the call in dismay. Lily sat in grief, wishing that her parents could spend more time with her. “What makes you sad, my child?” Lily told what happened to Grandpa. Grandpa sighed. “Cheer up, child! Do you want to come to the woods to hear the blackbirds sing? That will make you feel better.” Lily and Grandpa went to the woods. The blackbirds sang the best songs of them as if they were welcoming Grandpa and Lily. Lily cherished it! She sat under the Great Red Tree, her favorite! She enjoyed the red leaves that shed down on her hands. Grandpa sat beside her. “Grandpa, I would love to hear a story from you!” “Ah stories! I would love to tell one to you. This is how it starts…” Grandpa told a story about fairies, pixies, goblins and many more magical creatures. The fascinating part of this is that Lily believed every single word of it! She always longed to be a fairy. After the story, Grandpa and Lily decided to go home. “Come in, Lily! I made your favorite apple pie,” exclaimed Grandma. “Thanks a lot, Granny!
