When it's down to long-time buddies, we inevitably get into some true crime stories that certainly warrant the trigger warning they're given at about 11 minutes in.  Alexis and Ron both open up about the different reasons it would be a struggle to have a child in this economy, and the physical cost it would have for Ron. Without these different factors, it would otherwise sound like a nice idea. Despite being an artist, Ron talks about how real fame actually sounds awful. Eventually they discuss the series Euphoria, and the different discomforts it brought Ron in watching. Welcome to the most lax episode yet of The All Nighter Podcast! Sorry for the long break, we hope to get better about communicating why and when things fall through, and when we hope to return. You can see we forgot our caffeine, but go ahead and grab your's because we picked up steam as we went and this turned into an extra long episode. We talk about lost will, and trying to find it again. Ashlyn's been struggling more physically with her blood pressure during the pregnancy, and since recording this episode has been dealing with even more pain and perhaps a pulled muscle. We've each been dealing with more serious struggles lately, and we really appreciate your patience. We ponder how emotional we'll be with the wedding, and Ron talks about lessening anxiety over the hooplah of it all. Continued discussions on the Iran war, and the chaotic messaging from the administration. Once we delve into the military draft topic that is supposedly set for December, we talk about how it would likely lessen the efficacy of our military to have unwilling participants rather than strengthen it. Lock in y'all, we start out light but get pretty heavy with this one. If you notice a difference in audio quality on this ep, it's because Alexis's gain was turned up too high. In the next episode, we should have it fixed. :) Ash and Ron talk about their road trip to Austin, grateful to have spent quality time with family. During their stay, a mass shooting in Austin occurred. They discuss the tragedy, how they reacted, and how awful it is to become desensitized. Once we get into the Iran war, Ron brings up a powerful 2011 speech by Tony Benn that mirrors her feelings now. She feels DT is far too frivolous and reckless with his rhetoric and threats. She brings up Ben Shapiro's enthusiasm and giddiness over the operation names. She calls out the hypocrisy directly in saying, "We should not be so callous as to be excited about people getting bombed. What kind of Christian can you claim to be if you're stoked about that?" Going further, talking about Hagseth's words at a conference about "no more politically correct wars" as if considerations for civilians or diplomacy are out of the question for this administration. Further on, we say that no matter what a mom decides for her birth process, medicated or unmedicated, that it is valid and there should be no judgment, especially from other moms.
