As with former periods of exile from the Land, this dispersion had as its ultimate purpose the restoration of the people to the land and to their relationship with the Lord. For 2000 years the Jews have been dispersed by God in His faithfulness to His Word and Character is now fulfilling that purpose once again. Israel is now back in the Land as a consequence of the Abrahamic Covenant, in order to mediate the last great covenant of all of history to the world.
