The Break Room: A Nursing Podcast
Situation: People pretending to be bedside nurses when they really aren't Background: Nursing is a well-respected profession that just won (for the 21st year in a row) the most trusted and ethical job in the Nation. So how about we all stop pretending to be registered nurses and treat them like people? Assessment: After careful deliberation, all the nurses on the unit agreed that the person claiming to be a nurse, might have been exaggerating a little bit. Recommendation: Don't pretend to be a nurse! We know when you're lying Have you ever had someone tell you they were a nurse only to find out they aren't? Maybe they work in the healthcare sector but they don't actually possess a nursing license? You would be surprised to know this happens a lot in the hospital and there's really nothing we can do about it. This episode highlights what it's like for nurses when community members claim to be nurses when they really aren't. The goal is to raise awareness and remind the great pretenders to keep the drama at home. The hospital has enough going on as is. Enjoy!
