It is based on the 1934 play of the same name [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrily_We_Roll_Along_(play)] by George S. Kaufman [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_S._Kaufman] and Moss Hart [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moss_Hart]. Kaylee and I watched the 2012, West End version and react to it accordingly!

Our 2nd Sondheim Show coverage is, Sunday in the Park with George, which is inspired by George Seurat's famous painting. This poetic masterpiece explores the challenges in understanding life and art. Come From Away chronicles the real-life experiences of the people of Gander, Newfoundland, and the almost 7000 airline passengers who were forced to land there when US air space was closed on September 11, 2001. Twelve actors tell the story of both the Islanders and the Plane People, revealing the fear and uncertainty that came with the terrorist attacks – as well as the profound generosity and compassion of strangers. While some characters and stories are an amalgamation of several people and experiences, others are grounded in true people, such as Captain Beverly Bass, the first female captain for American Airlines; Kevin Tuerff and Kevin Jung, the couple from LA; and Nick and Diane, the couple who met in Gander.

Christel is here and brings us a fabulous 1970 Musical by Stephen Sondheim! In Company, we see Bobby on the night of his 35th birthday. He struggles to think of a wish to make as he blows out his birthday candles. The lone bachelor, surrounded by “those good and crazy people” -- his married friends -- Robert is uncertain whether he should simply be happy with his lot or whether he should wish for his own romantic partner.
