Descripción

This is part two of my three-part series, How to Get More Leads and Clients. In part one, we focused on lead generation. In this episode, we're moving to the next stage of the process: leverage. Most video production business owners think the value of a project ends when the invoice gets paid. The job gets delivered, the client is happy, and everyone moves on to the next thing. But there's an important step that video production company owners often neglect. In this episode, I share one of the biggest lessons I've learned in more than 20 years of running a production company, and why the value of a project is often much greater than most people realise. There's a good chance you're sitting on opportunities, proof, and assets that could be helping you win more work, and you're not fully using them. That's what we're exploring in this episode. episode The Inner Game of Running a Video Production Business artwork

The Inner Game of Running a Video Production Business

Running a successful video production business isn’t just about strategy, marketing and sales. Much of it comes down to mindset. In this episode, I explore the psychological side of running a business and share some of the personal philosophies that have shaped the way I’ve approached work and life over the past 20 years. These are the ideas I come back to when things get difficult, the principles that help me stay focused, and the framework I’ve developed for navigating the ups and downs of business. My hope is that this episode encourages you to think about your own approach and the mindset that’s guiding the decisions you make every day. If you’re looking to build a stronger, more resilient video production business, I think you’ll find this conversation valuable. What to Do When Your Video Business Feels Stuck

Have you ever felt like your business has stopped moving forward? You’re still working. You’re still getting projects. But the growth, excitement and momentum that used to be there feels harder to find. In this episode, I sit down with one of my coaching clients to talk about what happened when he found himself in exactly that position. After years of running a successful video production business, he felt stuck. The business wasn’t going backwards, but it wasn’t really moving forwards either. We talk about burnout, rebuilding confidence, finding a clearer direction, attracting better projects and creating momentum again. Most importantly, we explore what it takes to move from feeling like your best years are behind you to believing that your biggest opportunities may still be ahead. If you’ve been feeling a bit stuck in your business lately, I think you’ll relate to this conversation.

More Leads and Clients 3: Retention

What if one of your best clients left tomorrow? It’s a question that has kept many business owners awake at night, including me. This is Part 3 of my three-part series on How to Get More Leads and Clients. In the first two episodes, we looked at acquisition and leverage. Today, we’re talking about retention: the often-overlooked skill of building client relationships that last. I share the mindset shift that helped me stop worrying about whether clients would leave, why some clients stay for years while others disappear after a single project, and the practical things you can do to create an experience that keeps people coming back. We’ll also explore why retention starts long before a project is finished, how trust is built over time, and why some of the most valuable clients in your business may not be the ones you’d expect. For me, retention has been one of the biggest drivers of growth in my business. Some of our most valuable client relationships have lasted for many years and generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in work. In this episode, I share some of the lessons I’ve learned from building those relationships and what you can do to build more of them in your own business.

How to Get More Leads and Clients for Your Video Business

Have you ever found yourself repeatedly checking your inbox, hoping a client will get back to you? Or staring at a quote you’ve sent, knowing that if this one project goes ahead, you’ll be fine for another month? Most video production business owners know what it’s like to have too much riding on a handful of opportunities. In this episode, I unpack the framework I’ve used over the past 20 years to create a more reliable flow of leads and clients for my own production company. We’ll look at why so many businesses get stuck bouncing between referrals, networking, social media, SEO, cold outreach, and the latest marketing trend, without ever building a system they can rely on. I’ll walk you through the first stage of the framework: Acquisition. You’ll learn where leads actually come from, how to choose a lead generation strategy that suits you, and why becoming excellent at one channel is often far more effective than spreading yourself across five. The goal isn’t to guarantee a constant stream of work. It’s to move away from relying on luck, random marketing activities, and the occasional referral, and towards a system that gives you more control over your pipeline, more confidence in your sales conversations, and less uncertainty about where the next project is coming from. This is Part 1 of a new series on getting more leads and clients for your video production company. In the coming episodes, we’ll explore Leverage and Retention, and how these three pieces work together to help you build stronger client relationships and a more predictable business. And if you’d like support putting this into practice, this is exactly the kind of work I do with my coaching clients. You can find out more at ryanspanger.com/coaching [ryanspanger.com/coaching].
