Study with Sara

About Me –as a teacher Why I Teach— And Why It Matters for You I was oncethat child staring out of the classroom window, wishing I were outside in thesunshine. School felt full of distractions, and although people told me I was“bright,” my exam results didn’t reflect it. My reports described me as adaydreamer, someone “not suited” to higher education. Everythingchanged when I met a teacher who helped me understand how I learn. Not howeveryone learns — how I learn. That shift opened doors I didn’t even knowexisted. Once I understood my own learning style, I flourished. My confidencegrew, my curiosity expanded, and my academic life transformed. Thatexperience shaped the teacher and tutor I am today. My TeachingPhilosophy We alllearn differently. Our brains make sense of the world in unique ways, and whenwe honour that, learning becomes exciting rather than intimidating. My goal isto help you: •            Understand your own learning style •            Build confidence in your abilities •            Develop strong knowledge and criticalthinking skills •            Enjoy the process of discovery I teachbecause I’m endlessly curious — about people, ideas, and how things work.Sharing that curiosity is one of the greatest joys of my life. My FirstLesson: Two Rabbit Ears My firstreal teaching moment happened when I was sixteen, trying to teach a young childhow to tie their shoelaces. I approached it with the confidence of a Girl Guidepatrol leader and quickly realised it wasn’t that simple. What workedfor me didn’t work for them. So Iadapted. I swapped technical explanations for imagination: two rabbit ears, aplayful loop, a moment of laughter. And suddenly, it clicked. That momenttaught me something profound — learning becomes easier when the language isaccessible and the environment is relaxed. TeachingWithout Hierarchy Yearslater, as an anaesthetic nurse, I taught a junior doctor for the first time. Itreinforced something I already believed: learning thrives when hierarchydisappears. When people feel safe, respected, and supported, knowledge flowsnaturally. A Lifetimeof Teaching From youngchildren to teenagers, from university students to seasoned professionals, I’vetaught people at every stage of life. Each learner brings their own story, strengths, and challenges. For me, teaching is the beginning of a discoveryjourney — not just for the student, but for both of us.
