The Coming King | 1 Samuel 18-20 (Sunday, July 19, 2026)
In this sermon, Pastor Steven follows the growing divide between Saul and David as jealousy and fear turn Saul against the man God has chosen to be king. While Saul rejects David and seeks his destruction, Jonathan responds with love, loyalty, and sacrifice—even surrendering his own claim to the throne. Their contrasting responses point us toward Jesus, the true King who was rejected by His own yet calls us His friends, inviting us to lay down our crowns before the One who first laid down His life for us.
The Coming King | 1 Samuel 17 (Sunday, July 12, 2026)
In this sermon, Pastor Steven explores the familiar story of David and Goliath through the lens of faith and courage. While Saul and Goliath place their confidence in human strength, David faces the giant with a deeper confidence in the power and faithfulness of God. More than an underdog story, this passage reveals the kind of King David would become and points us to Jesus Christ, the greater Shepherd-King who went before His people, defeated the enemies they could never overcome, and now calls us to live with courageous faith because the battle belongs to the Lord.
The Coming King | 1 Samuel 16 (Sunday, July 5, 2026)
In this sermon, Pastor Steven introduces David, the king chosen not by the people but by God Himself. While Saul’s reign is marked by outward appearance and fading strength, David is selected because God sees what man cannot see—the heart. From the fields of Bethlehem to the courts of Saul, David emerges as a shepherd, musician, and servant through whom God begins preparing His people for a different kind of king. Ultimately, David’s story points beyond himself to Jesus Christ, the greater Son of David, who lays down His life for His sheep and leads His people into the presence of God.
Community on Mission | John 8:2-11 (Sunday, June 28, 2026)
The Coming King | 1 Samuel 15 (Sunday, June 21, 2026)
In this sermon, Pastor Steven examines Saul’s final failure as king in 1 Samuel 15 and the obedience that God desires from His people. Though Saul achieves military victory, his partial obedience reveals a deeper problem: a heart more concerned with appearances, personal judgment, and the approval of others than with trusting and obeying God’s word. As Samuel declares that “to obey is better than sacrifice,” we see why Saul’s kingdom is taken from him and why Israel needs a different kind of king. Ultimately, this passage points beyond Saul and David to Jesus Christ, the perfectly obedient King whose righteousness is counted to all who belong to Him.
