Descripción

Shift work is not a sleep problem. It is a rhythm problem. In this episode, I'm speaking directly to shift workers — nurses, healthcare professionals, first responders, and anyone whose schedule fights against the sun. After 24+ years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, I've watched what rotating shifts and night work do to the body. The exhaustion isn't a sleep problem. It's a rhythm problem. And it needs a different kind of solution. In this episode, I cover: * Why shift work disrupts your circadian rhythm at the cellular level * The four areas where shift workers have more control than they realize: light timing, sleep timing, food timing, and caffeine * How your home environment may be working against your recovery * An introduction to The Circadian Home™ — my framework for rebuilding your daily rhythm This episode is educational. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse providing nurse-led consulting on circadian rhythm, sleep timing, and environmental rhythm support. I do not diagnose, treat, or replace medical care. If you have a sleep disorder or medical concern, please consult your physician. Books mentioned: * The Light Doctor by Dr. Martin Moore-Ede * The Circadian Code by Dr. Satchin Panda Work with me:If you're a shift worker ready to stop guessing and start rebuilding your rhythm, reach out. karen@karensandereson.comkarensanderson.comlinkedin.com/in/karensanderson26 facebook.com/karensanderson Caring with Karen, LLCNurse-led consulting on circadian rhythm, sleep, and environmental rhythm support.

The 24-Hour Home: How Your Environment Affects Sleep, Energy, and Clarity.

In this first episode of The Circadian Home, Karen Sanderson introduces the idea that your home is not just where you live, it is one of the strongest influences on how you sleep, think, function, and recover. This episode explores how light, timing, and daily environmental cues affect your circadian rhythm, nervous system, energy, and mental clarity. If you have ever felt tired but wired, foggy, overstimulated, or unable to fully settle at night, this conversation will help you begin to understand why. This is the foundation for creating a home and daily rhythm that work with your biology instead of against it. https://www.karensanderson.com [https://www.karensanderson.com] Email: karen@karensanderson.com

Why Your Home is controlling Your Sleep: The Circadian Home™

Welcome to the debut episode of The Circadian Home™. Why do so many capable, high-performing people wake up exhausted despite doing everything "right"? In this introductory episode, nurse-led consultant Karen Sanderson, LPN, explains why the secret to restorative sleep isn't more discipline—it's biological misalignment. We spend 90% of our lives indoors, often in environments that confuse our internal clocks. Karen introduces a new framework for modern living: The Circadian Home™, and her signature Night to Day Clarity Method™. In this episode, you’ll learn: * Why sleep actually starts the moment you wake up. * The role of light and environmental cues in regulating your nervous system. * An overview of the four pillars: Circadian Science, Nervous System Regulation, Environmental Design, and Daily Rhythms. Stop operating on strain and start operating on regulation. It’s time to rebuild the rhythms your body already understands.
