The Cow Creek Chronicles, a series produced by Indian River Magazine
The Cow Creek Chronicles is a podcast based on series of the same name appearing in Indian River Magazine on Florida's Treasure Coast. The story follows a pioneering cattle-ranching family and the vast ranch they establish. This episode follows Keightley Raulerson as he arrives in Fort Pierce in 1896, just two years after the appearance of the railroad. Younger brother Frank will arrive in 1907, and together they help form the East Coast Cattle Company, which has a slaughterhouse and the Raulerson Grocery store. The Raulerson brothers also begin buying land and running cattle. In this episode, Keightley Raulerson plays a big part in building up his new community. As a state representative, he helps Fort Pierce incorporate in 1901 and then becomes a St. Lucie County commissioner after helping to create St. Lucie County in 1905 when it split from Brevard County.
