In this episode, we detail the following: "Infrastructure as the New "Moat" As AI models become more susceptible to being "distilled" or stolen, the strategic advantage is no longer the model itself but the physical infrastructure required to produce it. Atoms over Bits: Sovereignty and power in the 21st century will belong to those who own the "atoms"—the physical hardware, manufacturing capabilities, and energy resources. Industrialization of Intelligence: The ability to distribute intelligence as a utility across an entire economy is the ultimate goal of these factories. #64 - AI44 - Agent Literacy: Steering Claude vs. Dispatching Codex

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2426399/fan_mail/new] This audio production is intended to bring new technologies that impact our lives, like digital assets, central bank digital currencies and artificial intelligence in an easy to understand way to a larger audience. In this episode, we detail the fundamental differences between Claude Code and Codex, framing them as tools that cultivate distinct user habits rather than mere competitors. While Claude is described as a collaborative "cockpit" ideal for navigating ambiguity and refining creative architecture through conversation, Codex functions like an operations desk built for high-speed delegation and parallel tasks. The author argues that mastering these platforms is essential for agent literacy, a skill where users transition from simple chatting to managing complex workflows. By understanding how Claude facilitates steering and Codex enables dispatching, individuals can better direct autonomous agents to handle professional responsibilities. Ultimately, the text encourages users to move beyond benchmark comparisons to find the interface ergonomics that best align with their specific work style. #63 - AI43 - The Fable Fallout: Geopolitics and the Open Source Shift

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2426399/fan_mail/new] This audio production is intended to bring new technologies that impact our lives, like digital assets, central bank digital currencies and artificial intelligence in an easy to understand way to a larger audience. In this episode, we detail the following: The US government forced Anthropic to pull its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models offline globally by issuing an export control directive that banned all access for foreign nationals due to national security concerns. This unprecedented use of an "AI kill switch" was triggered when Amazon researchers, including CEO Andy Jassy, alerted the administration to a security "jailbreak" in the models. This compounded existing government fears that Chinese labs were accessing Western models via gray-market "distillation attacks". The crisis escalated rapidly due to poor communication between the government and Anthropic. When the White House demanded the models be pulled, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei was initially unreachable and subsequently refused to take the models offline, forcing the government to impose the sweeping export controls by Friday night. Ultimately,  the extreme speed of AI development is forcing both governments and tech leaders to make massive decisions without the time needed to properly troubleshoot, guaranteeing more disruptive misunderstandings in the future. #62 - AI42 Anthropic Fable Ban & the Sovereign Payment Blind Spot

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2426399/fan_mail/new] This audio production is intended to bring new technologies that impact our lives, like digital assets, central bank digital currencies and artificial intelligence in an easy to understand way to a larger audience. In this episode, we detail the following: For Europe, the unprecedented shutdown of access to Anthropic Mythos and Fable proves that relying on US-based AI models creates a severe strategic dependency; access can be abruptly terminated by foreign export politics. In payments, Europe was smarter a little faster and to reduce reliance on American duopolies like Visa and Mastercard, European and UK institutions have launched major sovereign payment initiatives for humans, including the Digital Euro, the European Payments Initiative's Wero wallet, and the UK's DeliveryCo. While these initiatives aim to retain transaction data and lower costs within Europe, they are entirely missing the emerging paradigm of sovereign AI agentic payments For more on AI and digital assets, check out Leon's books on those subjects. #60 - AI40 - Grand CANYON: the GAP between AI experts and the public

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2426399/fan_mail/new] This audio production is intended to bring new technologies that impact our lives, like digital assets, central bank digital currencies and artificial intelligence in an easy to understand way to a larger audience. In this episode, we detail the 2026 AI Index Report from Stanford HAI and PwC’s 2026 AI Performance Study, which provides a rigorous, data-driven analysis of the current state of artificial intelligence. It highlights how technological capabilities are accelerating rapidly, even as the regulatory and educational frameworks intended to manage them struggle to keep up. Key findings indicate that while the performance gap between the United States and China has largely vanished, the global hardware supply chain remains precariously dependent on a single Taiwanese manufacturer. The research also identifies a "jagged frontier" in AI development, where models conquer complex mathematical challenges but still fail at basic everyday logic and physical tasks. Furthermore, the report emphasizes a growing disconnection between public sentiment and expert optimism, alongside rising concerns regarding the technology’s environmental costs and safety risks. Ultimately, the sources serve as a comprehensive guide for policymakers and industry leadersnavigating a field that is scaling faster than society can adapt.
