How Do We Pray

How do we actually pray? In this Dear Divine episode, we sit with the Lord’s Prayer and the deeper meaning behind the words Jesus gave us. Prayer was never meant to be performance or empty repetition—it’s relationship with God. We talk about surrender, trust, daily dependence, forgiveness, and learning how to truly communicate with the Father. If prayer has ever felt difficult, confusing, distant, or inconsistent for you, this conversation will help bring you back to the heart of it. episode The God Who Covers Me — When He Brings You Back to Zero artwork

The God Who Covers Me — When He Brings You Back to Zero

What happens when the thing you trusted most becomes the thing God strips away? In this first episode of my sin series, I’m confessing the sin beneath my financial story: idolatry—the places I looked to money, marriage, work, and even yoga to give me what only God can give: safety, peace, and provision. I share how I went from a six-figure corporate job to $20/week, from a full financial reset (zero debt + a 777 credit score) back into heavy debt—and how God covered me anyway: the “Help me, Jesus” moment, the six-figure yoga blessing, the collapse that followed when the blessing became the idol, the season of forced dependence, and the miracles that proved God—not the system—was my Provider. We pray the Lord’s Prayer together (“forgive us our debts”) and name the truth Scripture makes plain: “The borrower is slave to the lender” (Proverbs 22:7)—and God is calling His daughters back to freedom, stewardship, and surrender. If you’ve ever felt ashamed of your past, your patterns, or your financial story, this episode is proof: confession is not condemnation—it’s the doorway to covering Scriptures referenced: Matthew 6:24, 1 John 1:9, Philippians 4:19, Malachi 3:10, Proverbs 22:7, Isaiah 54:4, Romans 10:11, Psalm 25:3, Hosea 2:7. episode Buried or Planted?: Psalm 1(Pt. 2) artwork

Buried or Planted?: Psalm 1(Pt. 2)

What happens when you're losing leaves and feel like you're failing—but God is doing deep root work underground? As I meditated on Psalm 1, God revealed something profound about winter seasons, gravitropism, and growing deep when you can't grow up. I get vulnerable about Thanksgiving with family, the story they keep telling about 3-year-old me, and how God showed me that the people pulling me down aren't opposing His plan—they're part of it. Like Joseph in the well, what looks like burial is actually positioning. The deeper the roots, the taller the shoots, the sweeter the fruits. We explore gravitropism (downward pull) and phototropism (reaching for light) as God's design for growth. Winter seasons aren't failure—they're preparation. The well isn't your end. It's your pathway to the Source. Scripture: Psalm 1, Jeremiah 17:7-8 Connect with me:  Instagram: @thedivinemother_ YouTube: @theprayingmama (Help me reach 50 subscribers so I can go LIVE!)
