Now, the takeover has seemingly taken away the community’s right to vote on district related matters. Teachers, parents, and students are all voicing their opposition to the changes made by Miles’ New Education System [https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/hisd-state-takeover-live-updates-18121113.php], a reform plan to fix the issues faced within the district .
