I know, I know, we're getting really bad at recording these episodes (and posting them, since this episode was actually recorded two weeks before publishing...) But here it is--Episode 13 of the E + J Show!!  This time, Justin recounts a trip he took to Upstate (or Central) New York to visit the home and village his mom grew up in. Emily discusses a Harvard Extension course she took this fall on "The Long 1960s" and its social, cultural and political legacies.  We wrap up by talking about Peter Jackson's "The Beatles: Get Back" now streaming on...Disney +...What a time to be alive. So, sit back, relax, and allow us to take you on a journey to possibly just as wild times. Enjoy!

Episode 12: Therapy, THC Chocolates, Tony Bourdain

Three months later and we finally have a new episode out!!!  We're so sorry to keep you waiting--it has been a very eventful summer for both of us in different ways. In this episode, we start off by reflecting about our summers and how radically different this one has been from the summer of 2020, aka "covid summer." Justin then discusses his psychological journey through dark times recently, taking a huge step by reaching out for help and finding a therapist, and starting to see glimmers of hope.  On a more humorous note, Emily tells the tale of when she accidentally took edible chocolates before heading out for a solo beach day. Our recommendation this month is the movie Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain which was the first movie either of us had seen in a theater since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker... Enjoy!

Episode10: Awkward Advances, Aphrodisiacs, and Airbenders

In this episode - our 10th!!! - we talk about all the sex we're not having. Covid, am I right guys??? Just kidding... Maybe? Justin recounts a time in late high school/early college when him and his best friend went to a classmates 18th birthday party, only to find they were the only people that showed up. Jello shots were had, sexy movies were watched, and the rest--you'll just have to listen to find out. Emily then tells a brief history of why there is the common belief that chocolate is an aphrodisiac. She walks us through cacao cultivation's origins in Mesoamerica and takes us on a 500 year journey through Europe and back across the pond to the US.  Finally, Emily recommends watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, which she recently binged on Netflix. Enjoy!
