Welcome back for Season 2 of The Esperanza Podcast! As always, we love finding amazing individuals to talk with & help spread awareness of what being an immigrant in America is like. We met with Lily Salas from Michoacán Mexico &, went in DEEP. We spoke about who she is & what she has been involved with. Lily is an educator who migrated as the youngest child having to leave everything she ever knew, loved & owned behind to follow her parents adventure to the states. Lily and I had a lot more in common as 2nd generation children of immigrant parents than I thought we would. Have you ever wondered what the lives of immigrant children are usually like? Jack's Story: Taiwan

On episode #7 of The Esperanza Podcast we meet with Jack from Taipei Taiwan. Just like myself, Jack was a troublesome teenager in high school. The only diffrence is, I dropped out of highschool & Jack, well he was sent 7,442 miles away as a foreign exchange student. His parents thought this culture shock would make him a better student & person. Did it work? You'll have to listen to find out! Our co-host Landon asks how his name (in mandarin "Wei-Lun") translates to "Jack", and his answer is PRICELESS! We are 7 episodes deep & for the first time ever on the show, we ran into someone who has encountered racism in the U.S and is now ready to talk about it. Another topic we touch on is the culture and honoring customs in Taiwan as well as many other places around the world. I am extremely happy to add another inspiring story for you all to listen to. Danny's Story: Vietnam

Have you ever heard a story of a kid born into a tribe called "Ca Dong" in, Quang Nam Vietnam? A story where this child looses his mother and father at a young age and, eventually flees into the jungle to live there with a sibling for two years? Where after 2 years, the  Vietnamese government takes him and his siblings from their life up the mountains, to an orphanage in the city? Where after 8 years in that orphanage he eventually gets adopted along with his siblings &, thats when his life in the U.S begins? Well if you havent, I have. Jusuf's Story: Africa

On episode #5, Landon & I meet with Jusuf. Having traveled exactly 4,922 miles From Sierra Leone Africa, Jusuf explains his upbringing. What makes his story so unique but similar to "Sukurani's Story" is, both their countries have had some unfortunate & devastating eveints go down in history. Jusuf was born during a civil war that lasted 11 years (1991-2002). Though he was a toddler during this war, there was even a moment where he accidentaly put his family & others in critical danger. He has very strong opinions on culture, U.S normalities &, stereotypes of course. Full of enthusiasm & wisdom, I am proud to add his story & experiences to The Esperanza Podcast for you all to listen to & learn from. Shannon's Story: Malaysia

On episode #4 of the Esperanza Podcast we meet with Shannon. She migrated from Malaysia in the 5th grade, we talk childhood &, the difference in school systems. She explains how different her life has been after the "leap of faith" her family made in the 2000's. This episode is very special, it is the first time I have a co-host with us. Landon Lacey from www.landonlaceyphoto.com gives us his "American" opinion on things such as schooling, culture, struggles &, stereotypes.
