I absolutely loved my interview with, Tom, Maggie, and Mary (Maggie), as they recount the life of Peg. Listen in, you too will be pulled into a remarkable story, of love, choices, consequences, hope, and forgiveness. Peg O’Hagan grew up in Ireland before immigrating to America. She was married to Mick for over fifty years. They had four beautiful children together. After her husband’s passing, she felt comfortable enough to share her story with others. On this episode of The Family Balancing Act we walk Peg’s path, as her remarkable story of her resilient life is revealed to her family and how her first born was not a “secret” she ever wanted to hide. Peg was interviewed for this memoir by her son-in-law, Dr. Tom Gorman. As Peg’s story was retold and recorded, Dr. Gorman transcribed the notes and authored the memoir. Mary, Peg’s daughter who was given up for adoption, was also interviewed and her story was captured in the memoir. Dr. Tom Gorman, superintendent of schools in a northeast New Jersey school district, has worked in public education for over 25 years. He is married to Maggie, who is a daughter of Peg, and is also in education. They have three children. Mary (Maggie) Boler, now retired from education and has been married to her husband, Tom, for over 40 years. Together they have two children.
