Welcome back to The Femme State! In today's episode, we do a deep dive into the career and life of Bella Abzug. The author of the famous quote in the title, Bella Abzug faced numerous challenges to both a legal and political career. Living in an era where some law schools refused her admission because of her gender, she found a home at Columbia University where she could earn her J.D. and advocate for women's rights on NYC's subways.
