Below are resources that have been provided by Emily if you feel you are in a harmful relationship and want to reach out for help. Their website has lots of info and this specific link has the names to all of their “member organizations”. These organizations cover every county. There is also a list of resources for tribal communities. https://www.mcedv.org/get-help/what-happens-when-i-call-the-helpline/ [https://www.mcedv.org/get-help/what-happens-when-i-call-the-helpline/] For those that want to call but may not be ready to leave an abusive partner or family/friends can call for support. The statewide helpline is 1-866-834-HELP For Cumberland County, Maine the helpline is Through These Doors- 1-800-537-6066. Helplines are staffed 24/7 and are able to talk about things, provide support, resources, safety plan, etc. For National listeners: The Domestic Violence Support website, https://www.thehotline.org/ has a phone number 1-800-799-SAFE or text "START" to 88788 as well as live chat option.
