Magnus Matt interview with The ToddFather

Magnus Matt is my 15 year old son, whom I love, like all my kids. He asked to interview me and it gave me some great insight as a father. How often do we sit down and intentionally have a conversation with our kids about how we came to where we are at in our lives? What was life like for me while I was chasing my dreams and passions? Not only talking about what I believe but why do I and how did I come to these conclusions about life and the principles that I desire to live by. Not a bad idea to give your son or daughter the opportunity to interview you and ask the questions that they want to know the answers to.  This will be something that I will continue doing with all my kids. Hope you enjoy this intimate conversation between me and my son.

Matt Virnau, USAF Combat Controller on becoming an operator and overcoming adversity

Matt comes from an agriculture/equine background and it is where I first met him. He has a great story of perseverance and overcoming what we perceive as failure.  He has an inspiring story of coming back from not meeting the swim time requirements while in ParaRescue training in the Air Force to becoming a Special Operations Combat Controller and Honor Graduate of his pipeline class then joining the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron in Tacoma WA and being deployed to Afghanistan on support of the war on terror.
