The Greg Rini Show with another wonderful edition of "People You Know Or Should Know"! Greg interviews a Rock & Roll legend, Mr. Dave Brigati! If you love the music of the "Hi Fives", Joey Dee & the Starliters and "The Rascals" According to Wikipedia: Brigati was born in Passaic, New Jersey [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passaic,_New_Jersey] and raised in Garfield, New Jersey [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield,_New_Jersey]. Brigati got his musical start as the lead singer of a doo-wop group known as the Hi-Fives. In 1958, the group recorded a number of songs on the Decca label. One of those recordings, "Dorothy", became a regional hit in the New York City/Philadelphia region. While with the Hi-Fives, Brigati began collaborating with Joseph DiNicola (known professionally as Joey Dee [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Dee]) of nearby Passaic, New Jersey [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passaic,_New_Jersey],[1] [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Brigati#cite_note-1] who sang back-up on a few of the Hi-Five recordings. In late 1958, Dee recruited Brigati (after a gig at Garfield High School [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield_High_School_(New_Jersey)]) to join his group the Starliters [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Dee_and_the_Starliters]. Brigati became a lead singer with the group and his lead vocals can be heard on their first single release entitled "Face of An Angel".[2] [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Brigati#cite_note-2] In 1960, the Starliters became the house band for New York City's Peppermint Lounge [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peppermint_Lounge]. The 45th Street [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/45th_Street_(Manhattan)] lounge was the inspiration for the Starliters hit "Peppermint Twist [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peppermint_Twist]" and the group gained international fame. The Greg Rini Show with another wonderful edition of "People You Know Or Should Know"! Greg interviews a national and Chicago radio legend, Mr. Chuck Britton!  He still is mastering the airways every week day morning on WSUV 104.9 in SW Florida or you can listen to him on the iHeart radio network from anywhere! Greg remembers listing to Chuck all the time when he was on WLS in Chicago in the 80s. Chuck was also on the WLUP (The Loop) before he landed at WLS. You may know Chuck Britton DJ extraordinaire from one of his other (in his words) many radio gigs across the country. He even had a gig on a country station! That was WLHK, 97-1 Hank FM in Biloxi MS. In his own words, "Voice Over Artist. / Air Personality chuckbritton@clearchannel.com  Radio history includes WLS & The LOOP, KUPD, KDWB, BIG WAYS, WRBQ,WTNT, Currently mornings on WCVU Port Charlotte, Fl.  "Breakfast w/ Britton" 7-10am  wcvu.com. "Yankee by birth....Rebel by choice"  The biggest fork in the road of my life was the day I was drafted.  I landed in Viet Nam on my 21st B'day.  Held that grudge for many years but FINALLY learned to "Let Go."  Life's to short to carry that much resentment." Greg was so happy and honored to land this interview being such a fan of Mr. Britton! He had a lot of fun doing this episode and hopes to have Chuck as a recurring special guest in the future!
