Fundamentals for Podcast engineers
In this episode, I kick off season two of The Guil Podcast and dive back into what I love most, podcast production. After taking time to work with clients and grow my production work, I'm back with a focused, educational season made up of six clear, easy-to-follow episodes.
We start with audio, the foundation of any podcast. I talk about microphone testing, avoiding common sound issues like noise and interference, and why monitoring your audio with good headphones matters.
I also talk about podcast gear, like mics, audio interfaces, and using Auphonic to help clean up audio and speed up your workflow. From there, we move into video podcasting, where I share tips on camera consistency, lighting, and creating a professional-looking setup that's easy to edit.
The episode also touches on editing software, comparing popular tools and explaining how to choose what works best for your workflow and budget. I wrap things up with practical gear tips and a quick Q&A, answering common questions from beginners.
If you're starting a podcast or want to improve your audio and video quality, this episode gives you a solid foundation to build on. I'm excited to be back and ready to share more throughout the season.
