The Heart Of God
Host: Welcome to The Heart of God, the podcast where we press pause on the noise of life and lean in close to the heartbeat of our Creator. I’m Reverend Barry Voorhies, and today we’re stepping into Episode 147—The Thousand Year Reign. This is the third episode in our series, “What Happens To Those Who Have Never Heard?” And friends, we are about to walk into one of the most fascinating, hope-filled, and sometimes puzzling chapters in God’s redemptive story. Right after the return of Jesus and the binding of Satan, Scripture tells us there will be a literal thousand-year period when Christ reigns on the earth. Revelation 20 calls it the Millennium. It sits right before the Great White Throne Judgment. But what is this thousand-year season actually for? How does a holy God use this unique chapter in history to accomplish His eternal purposes? And could this reign possibly extend mercy, revelation, or opportunity even to those who lived and died without ever hearing the name of Jesus? One verse in particular stops us in our tracks. In Zechariah 14:16 we read that “everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts…” Nations that once fought against God’s people will one day stream to Jerusalem to worship. What does that mean? We’re also asking: Is there any provision during this time for those who survived the Tribulation by refusing the Mark of the Beast? And what does the Old Testament actually reveal about this coming kingdom age? Isaiah, Zechariah, Ezekiel, and others painted breathtaking pictures long before John saw the vision on Patmos. If you’ve ever wondered whether God’s justice and mercy can kiss in ways we haven’t fully imagined… this episode is for you. So open your Bible, open your heart, and let’s explore together what Scripture says about The Thousand Year Reign.
