Welcome to the first episode of The Highest Five, where a handful of dedicated Deadheads debate and define the best live versions of Grateful Dead songs. In our first episode, we start with an opener: Feel Like a Stranger. We talk about what makes this song so unique in the Grateful Dead canon, what makes a great version, why it's maybe not a great song, but a great, compact jam vehicle, and dive into what are considered the best versions according to a site called headyversion.com. Then, we propose some alternate versions for consideration. We start, however, by discussing the tremendous loss of Bob Weir; how he has carried the legacy of the Dead forward for 30 years, and what his passing means to this music and to this community.
