The History Nut Podcast
Even within a dictatorship control is never absolute. Despite the regimes immense control over society, opportunities for opposition and resistance existed. After the war, many Germans justified their passivity and inaction against the regime by claiming protest was impossible. In this episode we will show how this cosy view is not supported by the evidence. There was a rich tapestry of opposition and resistance. This loud minority not only reveals to us the complex nature of social behaviour in Nazi Germany; it poses hard questions for the silent majority who could have resisted but ultimately chose not to.
