In this episode, we discuss Robin Nolan’s album ‘For The Love Of George’ which is a tribute album to George Harrison featuring an unreleased chord progression from George that was reworked into its titular track. The entire album was recorded on George's personal guitars inside of Friar Park which is as ethereal as it sounds!  Harry had the great fortune of seeing him life to which Nolan shared some anecdotes which were too good not to share with the rest of you (in a Pizza Express Jazz Club of all places)!! Cry For A Shadow - The Beatles In Hamburg

Welcome back to ‘Season Two’ of The Inner Light Podcast, a podcast on our favourite Beatle ‘George Harrison’. We are going WAYY back to where it all began for the Fab Four as we tackle their days and many nights in Hamburg, Germany between 1960-1962. Hamburg is a period that has been covered in paramount in essentially every medium from Biographies to Film but we thought we’d take a stab at a period that was crucial for the boys as they fine tuned their craft and became the band we're still enjoying to this day! The most important period for us as George Harrison fans would be the song ‘Cry For A Shadow’ which is what instilled us to make this episode but it wouldn't be a Beatles in Hamburg episode if we didn't address the shenanigans that happened there!! We have escaped technical hell and are back with our deep dive into the song ‘My Sweet Lord’!! This is part of an ongoing series where we discuss and dissect every song from George’s magnum opus ‘All Things Must Pass’ as every song deserves its day! What better way to kick off the second full year of The Inner Light than what is arguably George's biggest statement as a solo artist and a song that changed the trajectory of his whole career for the better and for the worse. It's a song that permeated the whole of his solo career and there's a reason it's still held in such high regard. A quick note from Harry - Mic issues are fortunately over but please ignore the occasional sniffle as I am currently getting over a fun fun case of tonsillitis and my sinuses have just given up on me lol I tried my best to incorporate some editing magic but can't do it all LMAO.. We are celebrating one year of having this space and podcast! From those who are just joining us to those who have been here since day one we just want to say a huge huge thank you to you all. It means the world that we have this safe space for our interests to connect and now is more potent than ever that we remain happy and safe within what is otherwise a volatile climate.
