Her story may just change how we see our own role in God’s work. Rev. Karen Taylor retired after twenty-four years of full-time ministry in the United Methodist Church, finishing her last seven years as Associate Pastor at JCFUMC. Retirement has given her space to enjoy home projects and a bit of travel. This July, she will return to part-time ministry as the Episcopal Services and Clergy Care Administrator for the Missouri Annual Conference. Karen is married to Jim, and they have one son, Jonathan. Inspired by the stories of women on the margins of society, we discover how God often uses the least expected to show the world the way of love. Mindy, along with her husband Chris and their four children, are members here at JCFUMC. After earning bachelor's degrees in Bible and Youth Ministry, Mindy and Chris served for many years in ministry spaces within evangelical circles. Today, Mindy homeschools their children, leads a ministry that builds bridges and sisterhood with women in the sex industry, and advocates for social justice both online and in her community. A pastor at heart, Mindy desires to see the church represent Jesus through costly love. She is currently a certified candidate for clergy within the United Methodist Church and is discerning her path toward licensing or seminary. Mindy is deeply grateful for how invitational and healing our church community has been to her and her family. Life is full of suffering, and people will let you down, but God can provide through faith. A Note From Michaela: At the Methodist church, I am a certified candidate and do pulpit supply for churches in the area. I am a proud Housemom to 4 boys at St. Nicholas Academy ages 10-16, Iva who is 2, and baby Zion who is a month old! I love gardens, birdwatching, and zoos. And, as most of you know, I'm wife to Kyrell. Mom roles come in so many shapes and sizes. Some Moms are remembered as incredible and others are not. No matter how this day passes for you, I pray that God provides you the comfort, love, and joy that is a part of a Mother's Kingdom work. Sarah's commitment to service extends deeply into our community. She currently serves as Chair of Jefferson City Room at the Inn and is an active leader in our United Women in Faith's Ruth Circle. She is also a valued member of the Beta Sunday Small Group.
