Season 1 Finale
Hight signs of on behalf of the Squadcast as we wrap up season 1. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we felt it was appropriate for the show to take a temporary hiatus as we fight an uphill battle in one of the most infected areas in the world. We catch you up on life and creative projects that have taken place since we last spoke like the release "The Pledge of our Grievance" on YouTube, plus some to come including Tre's return to music production (He would call it dabbling), The growth of Whitney's Kitchen Co, and the birth of an upcoming music project between Rell and Hight. Safe to say the squad has been busy, but we promise we miss you guys and can't wait to get back to the table. Once the state of Texas gets a hold of this virus we will be back bigger and better than ever. This is not goodbye...just...I'll holla. Sending love from Whit, Trey, Rell and Hight.
Checks & Balances
The Squad is back to full strength as we discuss the term "spiritual abuse". We start the conversation at the foundation with each of us defining what we classify as spiritual abuse and the different manifestations of that abuse we've either witnessed or experienced. We dive into some of the classic mindsets and thought patterns that are based in vulnerabilities and lend themselves to the likely-hood of being taken advantage of. We end with the consequences of spiritual abuse for all parties involved (victim, the church, and the abuser) and how the misuse of public platforms by spiritual leaders could have lasting effects, including fraud and embezzlement allegations of one of your favorite christian influence couples.
I Got 5 On It
To celebrate the long over due acceptance of the BLM movement on a global scale, the fellas of the Squadcast name their "Black Top 5" in various categories including TV shows, movies, singers and hip hop artist, comedians, and of course the "GOATS" of the NBA.
The Blacker The Bery
As our DC comrade Rell recovers from surgery, the rest of the squad wrestles with the emotions of today's social climate following the execution of Ahmaud Arbery. We discuss how we processed the news and what we did cope with another senseless murder of an un-armed black man by white hands. What is an appropriate response at this point? And are the 2.24 mile jogs of our privileged counterparts enough to keep up with racism's steady pace in America? Pull up, break bread, and get fed in a tough one where it seems The Blacker the "Bery" the more they shoot.
