Mildred is a retired Program manager from the Department of Social Services in Columbia, SC. Mildred is the mother of two Black men raised to be leaders, providers, and, above all, humble servants of God. We discuss the importance of rooting Black boys' identities in God and providing them opportunities to learn and grow. We delve into the various phases of Black men's childhood and how parents can help them gain leadership skills to navigate the challenges they may face and avoid falling prey to peer pressure.
