In this episode Colin hears about the housing scheme in Appledore, both from the perspective of Peter Reveley, secretary of the Appledore Community Land Trust, and from Karl Hine, Head of Community Housing at Aster who built the homes. A small village nestled on the side of a double estuary in north Devon, Appledore is typical of coastal communities in the South West with high levels of second homes and few opportunities for the younger generation to find somehwere to live locally.

In this episode Colin is in conversation with Jeremy Holton from the Parracombe Community Trust in North Devon and within the boundaries of Exmoor National Park. As well as proposing a small housing scheme, the Trust has provided a village shop & cafe and has taken over running the village hall.
