Leviticus 13:46 articulates the necessity of isolating individuals during contagion, a profound principle of disease prevention predating scientific awareness. Why do Bad Things Happen to Good People? ( With Cynthia Banza ).

Jeanine Banza: Cool Jeanine Banza: why do bad things happen to good people? Jeanine Banza: Today, we are exploring the second reason Jeanine Banza: on why bad things happen to good people. And the second reason is the curse of the land. The talk is based on Pastor Ed. Kho’s  sermon Jeanine Banza: on one of the past Sundays. Jeanine Banza: it's based on the fact that at the beginning Jeanine Banza: at the creation, there was already Jeanine Banza: a foundation of evil that was created by man himself. Jeanine Banza: The first people who appear to be in the world  disobey God Jeanine Banza: by eating the forbidden fruit. Jeanine Banza: you know. To make the long story short, the serpent came with the same tactic or trick he does today. Jeanine Banza: twisting and manipulating the Word of God. ''Did God say you must not it from any tree in the garden?'' Jeanine Banza: that the serpent, asking the woman. The woman said to the snake. Jeanine Banza: we may eat Jeanine Banza: fruit Jeanine Banza: from the tree in the garden, but God did say, You must not eat from the tree in the middle of the park. And must not touch it, or Jeanine Banza: you will die. Jeanine Banza: ''You must not certainly die,'', the serpent said to the woman. Jeanine Banza: you know, to insist. Jeanine Banza: God knows that when you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God. Jeanine Banza: knowing good and evil. Cynthia Banza: that Jeanine Banza: the root of evil at the creation. Jeanine Banza: the way God conceived the world. There was no evil at all. It  was a beautiful world; the lion. Jeanine Banza: used to play with the sheep altogether. But from this disobedience, evil entered the world. But I would Jeanine Banza: quickly reminds the audience here that there is no need to feel despair or a sense of hopelessness. Jeanine Banza: because after the mess up that took place in the garden, God immediately provided. offered Jeanine Banza: a free remedial which was the promised Messiah Jeanine Banza: to whoever Jeanine Banza: choose to accept or to receive him. Jeanine Banza: In the meantime, we live in a Jeanine Banza: pride, selfish world, which began with the crime of Abel Jeanine Banza: who killed his Jeanine Banza: own brother Cain because of jealousy. Jeanine Banza: and from this series of hatred crimes, disasters, murders, incests, rapes Jeanine Banza: enter the world. God did not curse men. But He said to Adam. Because you listen to your wife. And ate  the fruit  from the tree, about which Jeanine Banza: I commended, you must refrain from eating. Jeanine Banza: Curse is the ground because of you. Genesis. Chapter 3, verse 17. Jeanine Banza: And beside Jeanine Banza: the curse of the Land created by human Jeanine Banza: himself. Jeanine Banza: I will let Cynthia introduce the other reason Jeanine Banza: some time. Jeanine Banza: but things happen so the glory of God can be displayed. Jeanine Banza: Period. Manifested. Jeanine Banza: It can also be good, God testing our faith Like. I'll read in John in the Bible, in John, chapter 9, verses one to 3. Jeanine Banza: As he passed, he saw a man blind from birth. Jeanine Banza: and his disciple asked him. Jeanine Banza: Rabbi, who's in Jeanine Banza: these men or his parents sinned?  Jeanine Banza: That he would be born blind? Jesus answered. Jeanine Banza: it was neither that this man has sinned  nor his parents, but it was so that the work of God Jeanine Banza: may be displayed in him. Jeanine Banza: Cynthia, I invite Cynthia Banza, so you can just give your Jeanine Banza: your insight about this. What do you think sometimes? Jeanine Banza: Bad things happen. Jeanine Banza:  to good people? Cynthia Banza: Hi! Yes, thank you for having me. I do. You did make some great points and great use of Scripture there. From the early beginning of time, as you mentioned, like the world was already sinful, we brought sin into this world through Adam and Eve, of course, eating the forbidden fruit. Cynthia Banza: And so we were already sinful by nature. God did not create that sin, but we brought sin into the world through disobedience. So sometimes the bad things that do happen in this world. Cynthia Banza: or that we think are bad are really because can be, because we weren't obedient to the Word of God, or things that God was trying to show us, and as a result, it causes terrible things to happen. Sometimes those bad things happen, is not always. God, just saying, Here you go. But it's just because of our own, our lack of obedience and our lack of Self-control, or being able to discern what the Holy Spirit is telling us and other Cynthia Banza: sometimes bad things happen because of evil in this world. There is corruption. Some people don't believe in God or are away from the Holy Spirit, so far away that they have evil thoughts or things. Cynthia Banza: that their childhood that happens, and that causes them to perform such evil acts, and at the consequence of it, innocent lives have to be, you know, taken like, for example, in school shootings, when the children, you know it's regrettable because it's so easy in those situations to say. Cynthia Banza: if Cynthia Banza: but why does that get? Why did God allow that to happen? Such as the school shooting. But when it's because of that sin and those people aren't perfect like that person was so far from God, and was just. Cynthia Banza: committed such an evil act. And that wasn't because of God, but because of that person being away from God. Jeanine Banza:  oh, I love that. It's not because of God, but it's because of this. Jeanine Banza: from getting away from God. Yes, like, yeah, and I was trying to go deep in. I love. I love what you just said. Jeanine Banza: said. And also, like I was saying something. It does happen to nobody there. We don't. We need help understanding. We're not supposed to understand everything, and we will never understand everything, just like you have a baby that is born sick; there is no evident reason for this. Jeanine Banza: it's just like Jesus. Say here Cynthia Banza: it was neither that his men seen no his parent, but it was so that the work of God Jeanine Banza: might be displayed in him. Sometimes Jeanine Banza: God,  things happen so God may be. Glorified. Jeanine Banza: Do you have something to say about that? Cynthia Banza: Sure, like, yeah, sometimes, like you mentioned, like, well, bad things do happen. It is a wake-up. Call to remind us that we should rely on God and not on ourselves, and, you know. Cynthia Banza: not only turns to God when bad things happen but uses those as Cynthia Banza: to go, give God the glory to remind us like, Wow, I'm still here, although this happened. And that's only because God is not finished with me or is still trying to. That's still time for you to get closer and draw closer to God and listen to what he's trying to tell you through those bad situations. Jeanine Banza:  well, we went just Jeanine Banza: why do things happen to good people, and why does evil exist? And we will pray for those who sometimes feel hopeless. Jeanine Banza: hopeless, who are in a desperate situation or grieving, and don't know why they're suffering; they are asking so many questions since I would like to invite you to pray for Whoever that person is listening to us. That girl hurts so badly that she thinks she doesn't deserve what she went through. Jeanine Banza: and she's still questioning the goodness of God. I will invite you to pray for that girl out there, please, so we can close. Cynthia Banza: Sure. Thank you for the time that you've allowed us to share. Lord, some of your word. And just those questions that people may have out there, and for those finding themselves in bad or dark situations, and feeling guilt, shame, or feeling lost or rejection. that you may place your hand over them, Lord, and speak to them where they're at, and meet them where they're at, Lord. Cynthia Banza: and help them to rely on you for strength, Lord, for and know that you are loving, and you are God of mercy and grace and forgiveness and that they may be able to see Cynthia Banza: who you are, Lord, and see your light shine in their lives, and that know that you're able to take away all of that guilt, that shame, and that rejection that they are feeling, and be with them and bring them into a new life, and it's in your name we pray. Jeanine Banza: and Jeanine Banza: on how to answer the question. Why? Why in the world do bad things happen to good people? Jeanine Banza: where the first reason he mentioned is that life is life. Jeanine Banza: Life is unpredictable, and we can do nothing about it. There is nothing we can do about it. It happened to everybody. Life is life Jeanine Banza: in today's episode. We will go over that one. Reason. Jeanine Banza: and I will let my daughter at some time come Jeanine Banza: and and give her insight about that question. And before that, I will comment a little bit. Jeanine Banza: Life happens. Things happen even to good people. None of us is immune, and it's because life is unpredictable. I already say that. Jeanine Banza: But let me say this, even though life is unpredictable, God has a perfect and predictable plan for those who trust him. Jeanine Banza: Jeremiah, 29, verse 11, says. Jeanine Banza: for I know the plan I have for you declare the load Jeanine Banza: plan to props for you and not to harm you. Jeanine Banza: Plans to give you hope, and a future one Jeanine Banza: has to have faith, to believe. You have to have faith, to believe in this. Jeanine Banza: we know that God causes all things to work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Jeanine Banza: Roman. 8, 26 Jeanine Banza: we bring up. Jeanine Banza: So please give us Jeanine Banza: give your audience your insight about this. What do you think? Bad things happen to good people. Ketsia Banza: yeah. I've been hearing this question lately. Ketsia Banza: and to me, I feel like Bad things happen to good people? because Ketsia Banza: I think God allows this to happen so that we lean into him more and have no choice but to, like, need him. I think he Ketsia Banza: He puts us through all these trials and tribulations and just Ketsia Banza: life, unexpected events and things like that, things that can bring us down to make sure that we're we eventually, you know, because it takes some people a few events to really Ketsia Banza: you know. Bring them down to their knees and put them in a state of humility. But I think God just is constantly putting us through things in our lives, to make sure that we're in a state of humility, and that we're just continually bowing down to him. Ketsia Banza: because when we fall down Ketsia Banza: he rises up. That gives him more room to enter our lives and allow him to take over. Ketsia Banza: just all the circumstances where we we weren't made to. You know. Endure all of it alone; you know God puts us through things that. Ketsia Banza:  and that's something. Another thing that people say they say, like Ketsia Banza: God doesn't put us through things that He knows we can't handle, which is, which is true because we can't take it without him, so we can't do it all alone. That's when we're falling down, you know, hearing the weight of, you know, the crazy things that happen in life and sadness. But Ketsia Banza: we need to put all that weight on him so that we can be able to get through it. That's what we'll get us through. You know. The bad things in my life are just putting all of our weight on him and Ketsia Banza: He really wants us to. You know, as we're putting all that weight on him and going through life, you know, leaning on him. Ketsia Banza: We're leading into his, his knowledge, his word, the Bible, leaning on to that, as you know, our main source of, you know, life, life, knowledge. Ketsia Banza: and insight, and the more that we do that Ketsia Banza: the more that we're able to see things, see life, you know, through his lens, through the lens Ketsia Banza: that you know the way that Jesus lived. That's all. That's the ultimate goal. Ketsia Banza:  and you know, we're never going to be able to reach. You know that perfect state, because only he is perfect, but Ketsia Banza: as much as we can. He wants us to lead a life that. Ketsia Banza: is, you know, dependent on his word. And eventually, we start to see things. Ketsia Banza: as God. You know. The more we seek God, the more that we that's another thing people say. You know, the more that we like Ketsia Banza: seek Him and search for Him. The more we find him and everything, so that the things, the more things that life throws at us, which will never end. Ketsia Banza: it starts to get less. It starts to get a lot less heavy. Ketsia Banza: and you know, it seems like it's unbearable. We can't do it because we're like, Okay, this is happening. Well, you know God's with me. According to God's word, God will get me through as long as I go, and I'm obedient, worshipping, and sacrificing. You know what He wants me to do. Ketsia Banza: I know that God is. You know God is going to see this through, and we need to make sure to continue to Ketsia Banza: give him all the glory, and you know, worship him and exalt him Ketsia Banza: so that we can endure. You know his presence and all of it. Because it's a lot. But you know he's with us through it all. Ketsia Banza: I would need to continue to humble myself so that He he's exalted. Ketsia Banza: And he's ultimately over at all. Jeanine Banza: Yeah, I love this. And yeah, if I would summarize everything you said, we must focus on God. We must be focused on God. Jeanine Banza: Yes, basically, yes, and I love. I love. I love to give the example of Joseph's example, in Genesis. In chapter 39, Joseph's brother hated  him because he was their father's preferred child. Jeanine Banza: This cost some hatred and jealousy among all Jeanine Banza: Joseph Brothers. Jeanine Banza: and to get rid of him, Joseph's brother decided. Jeanine Banza: to sell him into slavery. Jeanine Banza: He was taken to Egypt, and eventually became steward to Pharaoh's officials. Jeanine Banza: He gets so much favor in Egypt that he is the one who became in a position to rescue his entire primarily from famine in Israel. Did you? Do you get that, Ketsia? Ketsia Banza: Yeah. Jeanine Banza: Well, this story Jeanine Banza: Joseph, the son of Jacob, who was called Israel, is a vivid representation of the fantastic illustration that even though life Jeanine Banza: become unbearable, become unpredictable. All things work together for good. Jeanine Banza: for those who love God. Jeanine Banza: and that's what exactly is said in a Romains,in Chapter 8, Jeanine Banza: verse 28, Joseph always seems to do the right. Jeanine Banza: More importantly, he did for the right reason. Jeanine Banza: he was rejected by his brother. He was sold out. Jeanine Banza: and it turned out to work so good Jeanine Banza: even for his purpose. Jeanine Banza: Yes. What do you think about this? Joseph, for example? Ketsia Banza: No, yeah. It shows that. Ketsia Banza: I think it shows that as long as you're Ketsia Banza: just being obedient to God, and you're able, you're so toned into God's Word that you can see him and hear him through. You know all the things that life throws at you so that you're not faced, or you're not really like, put down mentally or physically, in any way, because you know that ultimately he's putting you through this for a reason. And that reason is, you know, it will make you grow. Ketsia Banza: and you know all of us. We ask for God to, you know. Help us to grow, and a lot of things, you know. Help us, you know, overcome this, overcome that. Ketsia Banza: But the way that God, you know, does that, and a lot of times is he puts us through difficult situations, and a lot of the love that stuff is, you know, tests Ketsia Banza: But whenever we can overcome those situations by being honed in on God and knowing that God will get us through. That's what you know helps us grow. Ketsia Banza: I'm just putting us through all those trials, and whenever we ultimately overcome it, you know, that's a growth. And we're just going to bring our whole life. Jeanine Banza: Hey? Beautiful people of God! It was a pleasure just knowing that you listened to us. We are going to stop here. Having Hard Time Believing in the Bible? You Are Not Alone!( Full Episode).

Having a hard time believing in the Bible? Been there! What if the Bible was just another storybook? Before discussing the Bible, I must confess that it was not my favorite book. Like many of you, I thought the Bible was a mere tale at some point. And I will not lie; I became a regular Bible reader during COVID. I did my apologetic research and questioned people. This is why I believe the Bible is trustworthy, and I strongly recommend you consider reading it yourself to gain real enlightenment. However, if you are as skeptical as I was, you will find internal and external proofs in this episode that the Bible is not an ordinary book. First, the Bible was written by more than 40 different authors to whom God spoke individually on five different continents. These prophets never met or knew each other, yet their revelations coincided. This occurred over a span of 1500 years across five different continents. To make it even more astounding, the Bible sounds so coherent and united! It is impossible for these individuals to have met somewhere and put the Bible together, especially considering they didn't even speak the same language. Unlike today, where people can communicate through Zoom, there were no cell phones, internet, or even phones back then. I bet the phone wasn't even discovered... Moreover, the topics mentioned in the Bible are relevant and up-to-date. They relate to our everyday issues and provide wisdom and guidance. The Bible does not only contain moral rules and behaviors but also offers a clear understanding of our origins (where we come from), our mission (what we are supposed to do while we are here on earth), and our destination (where we are supposed to go for eternity) after our journey here on earth. Most importantly, in the Bible, God displays His plan of love to save humanity from sin and evil. The word of God in the Bible has healed the sick and delivered them from fear, anxiety, depression, and hopelessness. The power of the word of God is unlimited. Josh Mac Dowell, an evangelist, apologist, author, and co-author of over 150 books, says, "Now here's the picture: 1500 years, sixty generations, forty authors from different walks of life and places, three languages, writing on hundreds of controversial subjects, and yet they are brought together. There is absolute harmony from beginning to end. No other book in history can compare to this continuity's uniqueness." Secondly, there is proof inside the Bible that it is the word of God. The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies about nations, specifically Israel. There are more than three hundred extremely detailed prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament, including the place he was born, how he would die, and his resurrection. No other book predicts things with such precision as the Bible does. Not to mention the prophecies about current events and issues. When it comes to prophecies and reliability, the Bible is at the top. Every sign of the times we see today has already been foretold in the Bible: false Christ, wars, rumors of wars, nations rising against nations, famines, diseases, false prophets who will deceive many, and lawlessness. Men will be selfish, materialistic, arrogant, and proud. Heartlessness, brutality, rebellious youth, godlessness, hypocrisy, hatred, readiness, mockers of Christianity, etc. All these have been predicted in the Bible thousands of years ago. No other book has been questioned, like the Bible. Besides the internal proofs, external evidence shows that the Bible is the word of God. Many scientists and archaeologists, who were skeptical of the authenticity and integrity of the Bible, conducted research and studies. According to Dr. Nelson Glueck, no archaeological findings have ever controverted a Biblical reference. Archaeology has made fantastic discoveries regarding the authenticity of Bible manuscripts, references, and remains. For example, the skeletal remains of a crucified man were found in a burial cave in northern Jerusalem. There was evidence that his wrists may have been pierced with nails. The knees had been doubled up and turned sideways, and an iron nail (still lodged in the heel bone of one foot) had been driven through both heels. This article was found in the Reader's Digest of June 2000. Furthermore, the integrity of the authors is evident. All the authors were trustworthy people. The last external proof of the Bible as the word of God is its indestructibility. The Bible has been violently attacked and challenged by pseudo-science, psychology, and several political movements. Yet, the Bible has transformed millions of lives because of its supernatural power. There are several other pieces of evidence about the integrity and authenticity of the Bible. I encourage you to research, just like I did, to understand why I believe this is truly the word of God, and that's why I will be talking about it. In this episode, I have presented two reasons that prove the trustworthiness and authenticity of the Bible. It is a book written by 40 authors who never met or spoke the same language on five continents, and on controversial subjects. Yet, they have come up with similar life-transforming messages in the Bible.
