ep9: Growing up Racially Ambiguous
Growing up mixed race meant listening to everyone's opinions about what you are and are not. I add what my experience was like, what I learned about how hard it is to be minority and a parent, and some things I've learned about how I would want to be around other mixed race children. I explain why I think a high school student is still a child, and encourage myself to slow down, be more aware and to hold my tongue when presented with an adorable child. They're always listening.
ep7: Racist men on dating apps using "exotic" as a compliment -_-
Student speaks up about daily racism she faces on dating apps. I give 5 other things you can say to a girl if you want to pick her up on an app. Article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4332478/Leeds-student-wants-expose-hidden-racism-Tinder.html Music by: The Insider - The Great Break Off Link: http://freemusicarchive.org/music/The_Insider/Alls_Fair_in_Love_of_Wax/the_insider_-_09_-_the_great_break-off
ep6: A white girl's reaction to my college admission essay
ep5: Do Two Halves Make a Whole?
When you're half half like myself, do you choose one side or the other? In my humble opinion, enrich your life by choosing all sides. Plus, why "what food do you like?" is such a difficult topic for a halfie, "claiming my whiteness" (wtf?) and more.
ep4: "The Ether" of being mixed race
Writing and explaining the "middle world" that exists in a mixed race person such as myself, the difficulty of being in the world when you have multiple dialogues running at the same time at all times, and how quickly one can feel alone in ones thoughts as a result of this. Plus, some advice about loving oneself and giving compassion to loved ones if they don't quite "get you".
