The O'Heney Review
Ok I think it's official - this episode is too long and I officially don't know how to properly add transition music to an audio track. But, I hope you can at least appreciate the thought and effort. I promise to get better as we move forward. Back with us this week is Mr. Donnelly, Mr. Gaszynski, and Mr. Barelka, and this week we covered the final events that catapulted the United States into the Civil War. We have the formation of the Republican Party, the Election of 1856, the Supreme Court decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford, the rise to prominence of Abraham Lincoln, John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry, and the culminating events of Lincoln's Election in 1860 followed quickly by Southern Secession. As always, we had way too much fun talking about these topics in our nation's history, and our non-history guests had a great time thinking back to their 8th Grade History classes and trying to remember all the details. What a wild time it was for the United States, so we hope you enjoy listening!
