"The Sheriff Who Wouldn't Quit" Wind hums across the prairie. Saddle leather creaks. A coffee pot rattles on the grate. "This week on the Trail Boss Journal… I'm tellin' the tale of a man the years couldn't tame. Sheriff Gabe Whitacre — seventy years old, slowin' down but still meaner than trouble.
