Descripción

Today we go to France where we will talk about a woman who spent (25) years in the attic of her aristocratic home beginning in the late 19th century. It's said she wanted to marry a 'penniless lawyer' but her mother refused the arrangement. After some arguing, the mother decided to lock her daughter in the attic.  Twenty five years.  There is a lot to this story, so let's get on with it.

Episode 15: Strange and Unusual Suicides - The Hard Way Out

You're in for a real treat today.  But let's preface this with the following quote, “The thought of suicide is a great consolation: by means of it one gets through many a dark night.” ― Nietzsche Suicide is a touchy subject. Some people ridicule those who choose to end their lives, others will commend them for their courage.  Let's be honest, though....if someone chooses to take their own life and leave this plane of existence, that is their decision and their decision alone to make.  Yes, it can be heartbreaking and cause us tremendous pain and suffering when we lose a loved one to suicide, but hold on, that's being a little selfish of us, isn't it?  Are we forgetting 'their' pain and suffering and only focusing on ourselves?  Maybe, but let's back up a bit..... Today's episode is strictly about those suicides that are, well, really fucked up. These aren't your usual suicides, for the most part.  Many of these just leave you wondering, "Why the fuck would you even consider that?" Let's go.
