Descripción

The Art of Tapering benzodiazepines, antidepressants, antipsychotics. Psychiatric medication . This is not medical advice of clinical support. I am sharing lived experience from having to learn how to taper off 3 medications after getting harmed by one. I have followed people I trust who have also gone through this, and over these years been through all the pit falls, learnt the hard way, determine to heal and be free I press on. To release shame around this and to shine a light on how important it is for some people to taper like this. It is in fact life saving. I know some can take these medications no problem and stop taking them no problem, however there is also people who really struggle with adverse reactions and find it really hard coming off. With the slow tapering, with water or weighing on scales, people can get off safely. If I had not had the support of my family friend Hans who had the same experience with two antidepressants I honestly don't know if I would be here. Love Emma Produced by Harry Duns

Behind closed doors: Exposing Abuse In Psych Wards, Historical & Current

Sharing stories through history about abuse in psych wards / mental asylums. Showing a clear pattern, an echo through time, where the vulnerable get taken advantage of, as though it is a tale as old as time. I share my experience having ended up in 3 psych wards due to a severe benzo withdrawal that led to antidepressant and antipsychotic withdrawal, and many years tapering off these medications slowly so I could remain functional. I was non functional and harmed by the medication itself. And my journey all began with going into a Drs office with tinnitus. It is not here to scare those currently going through antidepressant withdrawal, benzodiazepine withdrawal or antipsychotic withdrawal. As this really does not need to be your story. And to be mindful of those still going through it to be sensitive to perhaps not watch this episode. However for those who have experienced this story, perhaps this will give you some validation in an experience that is very commonly dismissed or disbelieved. This episode is to bring awareness to a hidden corner of our world and to give validation to those who have walked this treacherous path. Love Emma

Love and Dating in Psych Med Withdrawal

A personal sharing of what it’s been like tapering psych medication for the last 4 years such as Antidepressants, Antipsychotics and Benzodiazepines. Discussing how it impacts love and dating, spoken from a females perspective. I’ve tried to cover all topics that come up a lot and what I hear a lot of people worry about.  I’ve also had quite a few woman asking for a podcast like this, so I decided to make one. I’m aware we are all on our different paths with this, some more harmed than others, and really it’s to speak to hope, even if you are in a bad place and your really harmed and it’s a long time until you feel like you could go on a date.  It’s to give that encouragement that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. As love is an important part of life. We can of course love ourselves, and all that lingo, but it’s also part of our human life to at times be in relationships. I’m not imparting medical advice on my channel, I am sharing lived experience. With the intention of giving hope to those left with no support. Much love  Emma and Wicket xx Podcast produced and filmed by Harry Duns
