The Raven Reid Chronicles
This is a reading from my personal writings. The musings of an artist looking back on death, drinking and running away again.

Memoirs of a Sixties Scoopee- 215 Children’s Bodies Found.
This poem is in response to the 215 children’s bodies found in BC. It took me a few days to understand the pain I felt when I heard this news. It took me back to the day they came to take me away too...to flashbacks and anxiety and I know I’m not the only one feeling this way...the entirety of our people feel this pain. The song is called No One Knows and it’s to the government of Canada. They say they want reconciliation but how can they fix what they don’t understand?...Listen to us first, then we will find a way TOGETHER. ————-the painting is done by Kent Monkman, I chose this one because the lady in the painting looks like my kukom.
Memoirs of a Sixties Scoopee, episode one.
MMIW 2020 - an original song by Raven Reid titled, Highway of Tears
I recorded this just in my home, on my cell phone bc today on October 4th, I thank the Creator that I am alive and well, when so many of our indigenous women are not. So many of us have been murdered, stolen, raped and abused. This song is written about a young woman just like that. Her name was Daleen Bosse. She was murdered on July 11, 2011.
