Since May is Foster Care Awareness month, I'm kicking off the podcast with an episode briefly detailing the day Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) removed me from my biological family's custody. I hope sharing this story provides a useful insight of how most children are impacted during the removal process and serves as a friendly reminder to anyone with similar experiences that they are not alone.
