The Road Ahead episode 3: Hybrid Church

Matt is talking about the implications of the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions and what it means for the church. He is suggesting that now churches need to provide for people watching on their own, people watching in small groups and people watching in larger groups. This is a model he is calling Hybrid church.

As Matt explores what God is up to at this moment, he is talking about what it means to move away from an abstract understanding of the gospel to an understanding that is rooted in the historical reality of the person of Jesus.

What's Happening?

lot of us have been busy adjusting to a new reality and as such have been simply focussed on survival. There is a danger that this remarkable time of change, could simply end up as an interlude as peopel go back to life as normal... and the opportunity for lasting change might be lost. Matt is hoping to take some time each week to look at the big picture of what God is doing and where he is taking us in an effort to lead his church forwards. To start with, Matt is talking about how two ideas from French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, might help give a useful framework to be thinking about what forward looks like.
